Our company’s youtube channel was created by a former college who’s account had been closed. We got access to the youtube channel but couldn’t change the email adress to a current user. I found this page “Transferring my YouTube account” on google
But as you can see “The tips provided in the article are only for users who created their YouTube Account before May 2009. These tips will not help users who created their YouTube Account after May 2009.”
So if you try you will probably be prompted with a text telling you “Your account is permanently linked to a Google Account”
Our account was created after may 2009 so… But then I found a solution.
First log in to your old account.
Then copy the link adress below and change the email adresses to match yours. Paste and go..
You should find your self on a page looking like this. The blue box is your old account and the grey box is the account you are moving to. If you click the + button below the blue box you can see which google products are active on this account.
Sign in to the account in the greybox
On the next page you may choose which products you wish to move to youre new account. As you may see, you can move more than just the youtube account if you want to.
Just click the YouTube checkbox, check all the checkbox in the gray box below (please read what it says, I’m not responsible if something “bad” happens) and click “I accept, Move this data”. And then you are done.
If you are not able to choose to move YouTube, this would mean that your new account already has a YouTube channel. To come around this you would have to remove your YouTube account on the new google account first. You can follow this guide. If you don’t want to remove the account entirely you’re out of luck as far as I know. Of course you can always move that account as well.. although I don’t think it’s possible to merge accounts.
